FAQ for Cardlay Pay sales training

Who is Cardlay?

A Danish Fintech that SAP Concur has partnered with to provide an App Center product that offers a Corporate Card platform to provision virtual cards for business expenses.

What is Cardlay Pay?
An App Center card service that enables the creation, control, and management of prepaid virtual cards for handling corporate expenses and controlling company spend upfront, integrated directly to Concur Expense.
Why is SAP Concur partnering with Cardlay?
We recognize that the demand for digital payments is growing. We also recognize that our clients want more control over their spending and the ability to capture more of it on a card program that is easy to manage and visible to leadership. This partnership gives us the ability to offer this solution without the need to create our own product as well as bring it to scale with other bank partners in the future.
Who is a good fit for Cardlays services?
Any corporation that is looking to better control their spending. Often companies that have uncarded employees or perhaps contractors as well that spend their own funds and submit for reimbursement are a great fit for this product. The goal is to give the client the tool to gain better visibility into their spending and control it before it happens.
Do the transactions on Cardlay's virtual card feed into Concur?
Yes, they have created a supported card feed to Concur.
How do the customers get the card feed set up?
Concur CSE/CSM will need to create a SOF for a new card feed. The cost of this feed should be waived for the clients enrolling in the pilot phase. Please email Shawn Dooley at shawn.dooley@sap.com
with the customer information seeking approval. Once approved via email, attach that approval email to the notes/attachments of the opp. In the BMI quote reduce the cost to $0 and in the special terms reference CARDLAYSETUPWAIVER and note that the email approval from BD is attached to the opp.
Is there a cost for this service to the end customer?
There is no subscription fee or setup fee paid upfront for the service from Concur or Cardlay, there will be card administration fees (see full price list) charged by Cardlay as the product is used and cards are created.
What currencies does Cardlay Pay support?
The Cardlay Pay card supports all currencies that can be handled by Mastercard.
Funding accounts are currently supported in either GBP or EUR.
What types of expenses can be paid with a virtual card?
Most vendors will accept a virtual card today, such as travel, lodging, meals, and entertainment.
How can you pay with a virtual card?
You add the card to your mobile wallet for purchases at the POS terminal where digital payment is accepted. Internet purchases can be done by typing the pan, expiration date, and cvc provided to you in the app and your mobile wallet. Anyone else that does not accept digital pay at the POS but can key in a card can do so as well by using the pan, expiry date, and cvc provided on the card displayed in your mobile wallet.

You can see a guide on online purchases here, and a guide on purchase with mobile wallet here.

Why would customers want to leverage this solution instead of a plastic card?
• Gives more control over your company spend
• Easier to manage than requesting physical plastic cards
• Allows more employees to leverage a company card program
• Alleviates the burden of an employee having to spend their own money on company expenses
• Reduces risk of employee expense reimbursement
Do I need to change my bank relationship and account set up to make this app work?
No, you can keep your existing banking relationship. You will however need to set up a bank funding account with B4B Payments. Cardlays sales team will walk the customer through that process. This is where the funds will be housed for the virtual card.
Does my client need a banking relationship to make this app work?
Yes, the Cardlay Pay solution issues a MasterCard prepaid card. If leveraging Cardlay Pay you would need to set up a bank funding account with B4B Payments. B4B Payments is the banking partner of the Cardlay Pay Solution handling the funding and issuance of virtual cards. This would be done as part of the setup of the application and KYC onboarding process.
How do the companies transfer money to the funding account and load the virtual cards?
The company will transfer money to the funding account in B4B Payments from their master banking account. Virtual cards are loaded with money from the funding account in B4B Payments.

There is a guide on how to transfer money to the funding account here.
